We started Skrunchi because every pair of shaping shorts we owned did the same thing: held for an hour, then folded over at the waistband and sat in a ridge under whatever we were wearing.
The problem was never the compression. It was the band. Almost all shapewear sews a separate strip of elastic to the top edge, which means two fabrics at two different tensions meeting at a seam. The stiffer one has to fold somewhere.
So we removed it. The top edge of every Skrunchi garment is bonded — the panel and the edge are one continuous piece of fabric, with no seam and no separate band. There is nothing stiffer to fold against.
That is the whole idea. We would rather tell you how the garment is built than how it will make you feel.
